السلام عليكم
أهلا بالجميع
شباب وش رأيكم بهذا المقال "وأعذروني لعدم ترجمته لأنه طويل
وأعذروني عن بعض الألفاظ الي فيه Seeing tens of thousands of empty seats in the Millennium Stadium on Sunday made me angry. The Chelsea fans couldn't even turn out to support their team whereas the rest of the ground was dominated by Liverpool supporters.
Even the Mancs and the Arse would have taken a good following but Chelsea? Well I'm sorry but they don't deserve Abramovich because their support is shit. They couldn't even be arsed to turn out. Shame on them.
I was listening to TalkSPORT on the drive back from Cardiff yesterday and I heard this clown of a presenter say that Chelsea fans didn't turn up because they knew they'd get beat. He said that if Liverpool couldn't have beaten Chelsea on Sunday, then we never would.
He was implying that Chelsea were playing with a weakened team. My blood was boiling. They started at full strength while we had the likes of Gerrard and Alonso on the bench. Mourinho made out he wasn't taking it seriously so why start so strong then?
Liverpool fans turned up not knowing what the result would be because we support the team regardless. It might have 'just' been the Community Shield but the team are out there representing us and that's why we get behind them.
But you know what will happen now don't you? Now they'll be wanting to do away with the Community Shield. Well I'm sorry, while I know it's not a major prize, it's still a trophy that is listed under our honours and when I went to Cardiff, I wanted us to win it just as much as I did an FA Cup. Of course the FA Cup is important but I wanted to smash Chelsea just as much as I would in a Cup final.
Seeing Liverpool win everything means so much to me. I know it's all about the Champions League today but come on, I want us to play in all the tournaments even if we field reservists or kids. Man United and Arsenal devalued the League Cup, then the Mancs devalued the FA Cup, then UEFA started pissing around with the UEFA Cup and now because of Chelsea, it will be the Community Shield.
At this rate there'll be nothing worth competing for other than the League and the Champions League. Well while I enjoy seeing us play the best clubs from Europe, I also enjoy taking on smaller clubs that progress to the latest stages of the FA Cup. If they take away all these other things then they can stick the game.
While in Cardiff I met some great lads that visit the site. I didn't plan to, I just had people coming up to me asking if I was 'Dunk'. I never had to buy a drink all weekend but getting to bed at 6am on Sunday morning didn't help my planned break! Fortunately I got out of bed a couple of hours before kick-off but God, did I not like that. I was wrecked.
Cardiff is a great place. Having been there before with Liverpool I already knew that but it really does have a homely feel about it, unlike Wembley where you're kind of sent off into different areas to party after a match.
When we're back at Wembley, I'll miss the Millennium Stadium. It holds so many good memories for us.
At full time when Liverpool were preparing to collect the shield, the Liverpool fans chanted 'Your support is ****ing shit' at the Chelsea bench. The in-stadium camera then focused on Mourinho. His face was on both the big screens. You could see he was listening to pick out what we were chanting. Judging by his facial expressions, he didn't need telling. He smirked and just pulled one of his stupid faces.
Football to me isn't just about silverware or results. It's about passion and atmosphere. When you take that out of the game you're left with cricket. I'd have more respect for the likes of Chelsea if they acknowledged class and applauded - like we do - good football, whoever's behind it. And if you can't turn out to support your team, then you don't have the right to attach yourself to any team. I'm not talking about individual cases. Sometimes it's not possible to turn out but the amount of empty Chelsea seats showed that the majority simply couldn't be bothered. Only their die-hards bothered. |
