August 12th ended the Ramadan, the eigth month of the year at the Arabic Calendar. In these days, people do fast since the sunrise until the sunset. In spite of all the sacrifice, all the Muslim considers this the most beautiful month of the year. A little prove that they take it very seriously is this video.

The Ramadan changed all our routine of training and games. Here, because of the heat, the practice starts around 7 pm or 8 pm. In this period, it starts a little bit later and gives the necessary time to the islamic players to eat something and go feeded to the training. All the activities start after 10 pm.

But the Ramadan doesn’t affect only the islamic people. The malls work at non conventional schedule. They open when the sun sets and close after 3 am. The restaurants make banquets and it’s a little crazy. The city streets become full of cars late in the night. The traffic stops! Very different from Brazil, where at this time people are probably sleeping.

We, who are not Muslins can feed normally, but not in public. Outside our house, neither a gum. Water? Don’t even think about! Fair enough. They do it to let those who is fasting focused on their sacrifice and their prayers.

Here goes a small tribute to all my Arab friends! The red cloth in my head is called Kafiya and the black cord which ties it is the Agal. This white cloth, which goes until my feet, is called Thob.
