-- AC MILAN are again being linked with a move for Fiorentina's Portuguese midfielder Rui Costa.

With Zvonimir Boban set to leave Milan in the summer, the club are on the look out for a genuine midfield playmaker and are known to have inquired about Rui Costa on a number of occasions.


With former Fiorentina coach Fatih Terim widely tipped to be in charge at the San Siro next term the link has re-emerged.


Rui Costa is known to have been deeply disappointed that his close friend Gabriel Batistuta was allowed to leave Florence for Roma in the summer. He was also one of the Viola players who was most impressed by Terim and has frequently stated that his future in Florence is dependent upon the club finding some stability and making a serious bid for honours.


The fracas that led to Terim's resignation this week shows clearly that Fiorentina are far from stable and a summer move would not be a major surprise.


However, while Milan will certainly be interested it is unlikely that they will be the only club looking to bring in one of the world's most highly-rated creative midfielders.
