2. FREE KICKS
=========================================
These seem to be similar to those found in WE5FE/PES, although there, as usual,
has been some slight tweaking. If used properly, they can be devastating. A
good player
will practice free kicks often, so that when the time comes during a vital
match, you can
deliver a killer blow that often rescues you a point, or even a victory.
There's a new free-kick animation, specifically designed for David Beckham,
looks great.
This takes the total free-kick styles to 5.
Down and [] - performs a shot which has more loft in it, and less power. These
free kicks
are best used when the foul has been committed near the edge of the penalty
area.
Range around 20 - 25 yards out.
Up and [] - performs a more powerful shot, with less height. Best for long
distance
free kicks, say anything above 29m out.
Curve and dip
-------------
Hold in the direction you wish to curve the ball in to add curve in that
direction - simple.
By holding in X or /\ after the ball has left your player's boot, the ball will
vary in dip.
X will make the ball dip more, but result in a slower shot. /\ will make the
ball dip, but
not as much. The shot however will lose less velocity as it travels. It is
ESSENTIAL that you
do not press either of these until the ball has been struck. Do so and the ball
will 99% sure
fail to clear the wall.
All of these commands can be used together, up/down, left/right, /\ / []. This
is what makes
free kick taking an art. As they say, practice makes perfect. And the results
are satisfying

.

3. PLAYER STATS
=========================================
All player stats are much better than in WE5FE/PES, they seem to be closer than
ever to
the Championship Manager series on the PC. This is a good thing, as it's widely
regarded as
the greatest management game of all time.
a) Regular stats
-------------------
Attack - how good at attacking
Defence - how good at defending
Body Balance - strength
Stamina
Speed
Accelearation
Response
Dribble

Short Pass Accuracy

Long Pass Accuracy

Shot technique - a new addition, players who have a good stat for this can
shoot better from
tighter angles and different body positions.

b) Special stats
-------------------
Dribbling : When the CPU is playing, it will attempt to dribble more with this
player.
P.Player : Good first touch.
Position : Takes up good striking positions inside the box.
Reaction : Off the ball movement.
Scoring : Increases the chances of finishing well.
Command : Makes team-mates make off the ball runs, playmakers like Beckham,
Zidane have
this ability.
Passing : When the said player has the ball, more team-mates try to help him
out by
making themselves available for passing.
BF Fake : Can dribble with both feet.
PK : Good at penalties.
1-1 : Good in one on one situations with the keeper.
L-Throw : Good at long throw-ins.
1-Tch Pass : Good at direct passing, i.e. forward passing.
Outside : Can pass or shoot with the outside of their boot.
Man Mark : Good man-marker.
D-Line : Good at controlling the defensive line, catching forwards out on
offside rule.
Sliding : Good sliding tackler, will keep control of the ball, rather than it
rolling out after a slide tackle.
Intercept : Good at anticipating and intercepting passes.
Fd Kick (GK Only) : Good at passing the ball quickly to spring a counter
attack.
1-1 GK : Goalkeeper stands up well, hard to beat in one on one situations.
PK GK : Goalkeeper is good at saving penalties.
Injury : How resistant to injury a player is, A being the best.
GOALKEEPERS
------------------
Goalkeepers with a high attitude will rush out quickly to narrow the angle.
Some
of these include Buffon, Barthez, etc. David Seaman is an example of a GK who
tries to
stay as near to the goal as he can - a low attitude.

4. MASTER LEAGUE
================================
This as most of you will know, has undergone major changes since WE5FE/PES.
There are
now 3 divisions, and player wages etc are calculated differently.
You still start out with the same default side every time, which is a bit of a
pain in the arse
if you ask me, cos if you get bored of your current game, you're going to have
to sstart with the
crappy players again

.
You can now change the difficulty level during the ML. There are 4 levels,
Easy, Normal, Hard
and Extreme. You CANNOT change to extreme mid game - you have to start on that.

a) Buying players
---------------------
You can buy from other teams, or alternatively you can buy from the free
transfer market. This
is cheaper as you are only paying the wages and not the big transfer fee. You
can also take players
on loan, but not from the free market.
Free transfers - choose a player not with one of the game's 40 club sides. For
example,
Tijani Babangida. Say he has the number 200 next to his name. That is his
estimated wage demands for one season. When you choose him, you will be
presented with a menu. Choose the top option, and do the same on the next small
menu that appears. He will now go into your shortlist or "Inbox", which is
shown on the transfer screen as Japanese with the word "IN", in English.
When you go into that, all players you have tried to sign will be there. Now
the stat under their name has changed. This is the total cost of their wages
over a selected number of seasons. Choose the player you want to sign, in this
case, Babangida. You are now at a screen where you can enter the desired number
of seasons you wish to offer the player a contract for (top figure, 1-5). You
can also change how much money each season you offer him (Below the number of
seasons figure). If he has 800 under his name at the start, this means he wants
4 seasons at 200 each year. Now you can offer him that, but he will almost
certainly refuse it. You will have to offer him more than what it appears he
wants, I'd go for around 1000-1200 for someone who wants 800.
You will not find out until the following week if he has signed.
The total wages are divided by the number of games you play each season, and
are paid in small
amounts after each league match. No wages are paid after cup games. Remember,
this applies to ALL players, so even though it may look like you have a lot of
cash, you have to bear in mind that figure pays the wages for the entire team
for the whole season.
Signing from other teams - Choose a player at a club. Whether or not the player
will accept your offer can depend on things other than wages such as love for
the club he is at already, your team's division, etc.
When you try to sign a player from another team, 3 options appear:
1 - Buy player
2 - Loan player
3 - Exit
The same system as explained in buying free transfer players applies here,
although you will also have to pay the club for the ployer if you choose to buy
and not loan. This figure is usually in 4 figures. Again, the player goes into
your shortlist or "Inbox", and the same thing as above happens.
b) Free transfer bargains
