Saudi Arabian striker Yasser Al Qahtani is eager to deliver on a promise made to his nation's fans and help Saudi Arabai qualify for a fifth consecutive World Cup finals with victory over Bahrain in the second leg of their play-off on Wednesday.

Bahrain dominated the first encounter between the two teams last Saturday, but they were unable to beat Saudi Arabia's goalkeeper Waleed Abdullah and had to settle for a goalless draw.

Former AFC Player of the Year Al Qahtani is expecting another tight contest on Wednesday and is set to lead the Saudi Arabia attack alongside Malek Maaz.

“My team-mates and I have promised all the Saudi fans to keep our hopes alive and we will do this and we will battle until we reach South Africa,” said the Al Hilal attacker on a press conference ahead of the game.
