يضاعف الاحزان وصراحه عاجز اني اترجمه Where are the new players? Tom Hicks and George Gillett made promises of transfer fees when they took Liverpool over but so far we’ve seen nothing but empty hands.
;) ;)
Liverpool have been linked with all kinds of players: Samuel Eto’o, Fernando Torres, Yossi Benayoun, etc but so far no moves and low-ball offers. In trying to land Fernando Torres, Liverpool seem more interested in moving some of their less desirable players in part exchange but Atletico Madrid are not interested, knowing full well what their player is worth. Lots of talk of a Torres offer but none has officially be made.
Despite Benitez being quoted as needing his squad set up as early as possible there seems to be no movement to strengthen in areas the team needs. In fact, the only significant move of the summer is for a holding midfielder something Liverpool have a glut of.
What is all the delay for? Is this a sign that the new owners are more interested in profit than they are the club? Is Liverpool going to wait for a bidding war to ensue while the new owners acclimate themselves to the way the global transfer market operates? All interesting questions and not a lot of answers.
For example, one situation that puzzles me is that Marseille want to buy Djibirl Cisse and Liverpool won’t make a deal. They should sell the player and take the cash. He should have been sold before Torres was available. Same goes for Craig Bellamy and Momo Sissoko , with a glut in midfield why is he needed? Combine the transfers for all 3 players and you have half the money you need for Fernando Torres. It seems like Liverpool want to sell their players for the maximum and buy their players cheaply. It won’t work that way. If Darren Bent is worth 17m pounds you can bet Torres is worth 20+. Sell the players, buy your striker and settle the team for a run next season. |
