Al Hilal confirm De Mos-talks

Tuesday 4th March| Dutch manager Aad de Mos is likely to succeed Romanian Ilie Balaci at the helm of Saudi league champions Al-Hilal as the Blues’ newest supremo, this has been confirmed today by club president Abdullah Bin-Mossaed.

The former Ajax and Mechelen manager will be the third coach at the helm of the Blues this season, Al-Hilal having sacked former Colombia national team manager Francisco Maturana in mid November before appointing Balaci of Romania.

“Both parties have agreed upon the initial draft of the contract, to be signed here in Riyadh next Thursday,” stated Emir Abdullah Bin-Mossaed in a special press conference held on Tuesday.

“This is the expected outcome of 4 days of extensive talks being done somewhere in Europe, the deal will see Mr. De Mos taking charge of the side till the end of next season, $1m will cover the global package of the Dutchman and his assistants,” added Bin-Mossaed.

“We all hope the experience of the new manager will guide the club to new horizons – we have the Asian Champions’ League quarter-finals stage lying ahead of us next week in the UAE, and we are firmly focused on re-establishing the status of Al-Hilal as one of the main superpowers throughout the continent,” stated the club president.
