هذا المقال رائع وكتب بعد أنتقال باروش "الترجمه عليكم" قايل لكم أني زول Now go and get me Owen!
So Milan's on his way to Villa. I'm gutted for him but I'm sure he'll get over it with an extra £5k-a-week in his pay packet.
At Euro 2004 he was simply amazing. I was convinced we'd forget about Michael Owen in no time but he never rediscovered that form at club level. His time at the club was a bit rocky to say the least with rumours of bust-up after bust-up with the management and influential team-mates. He seemed to get his act in order though but his time at the club was still to come to an end regardless. Put simply he just didn't score enough goals and that was enough for Rafa to get shot of him.
Are you listening Real Madrid?
Towards the end of last year I was made aware of Rafa's feelings about Baros. The manager was furious that Baros ignored specific tactical requests and his 'head-down' approach to the game left the boss continually exasperated. That peaked in January when KopTalk ran an exclusive that Baros was facing the axe and that Owen wanted to come home. Many of you laughed at the suggestion that Baros would be sold, especially as there hadn't been a hint of any trouble at the club. But who'd have thought we'd spend what we did on Peter Crouch? I've told you many time before, things can change within seconds.
So what of Milan's replacement? Well for me I'd like to see Michael Owen brought back to Anfield. I can forgive, maybe not forget, but I can forgive. We did it with Rush and we can do it with Owen. Michael Owen is not a journeyman, he's a Red in my eyes and always will be regardless of where he plays his football. If he did return to Liverpool he'd feel a right plank wouldn't he after leaving to chase his hopes of European glory, so you cannot blame Rafa if he says 'Bollocks' to him. If we weren't good enough last season then we're not good enough this season, right? Wrong. I think sometimes you shouldn't cut your nose off to spite your face. Michael is a proven, world class goalscorer and his signature would help keep the likes of Steven Gerrard at Anfield for life. If you think we'll get by with Morientes, Crouch and Cisse I think you're mistaken.
Will Owen sign before August 31st? Of course he will... right! |
