Liverpool finally in control مقال جميل بخصوص "توقع خروج جيرارد"
[line]
It's finally happened. Rick Parry has found his balls. It's about time the club showed it was bigger than any player. No offence Stevie but you pissed me off all season with your "I'll decide what I'm going to do at the end of the season" and your constant refusal to pledge your future to the club Michael Owen style.
"I want to win things," he repeated week in, week out - well we all bloody do. The chairman does, the manager does, every player does and every fan does. It was a distraction we could have done without. Poor old Ged had it with Michael Owen and Rafa had it with Gerrard last season. We don't need these distractions any more. The relationship between the captain of Liverpool and his employers should be like a marriage, the love should be unconditional. Like Valentines Day, a Cup final is a one-off, it's what you do the other 364 days of the year that shows where your heart is.
After we won the Champions League Gerrard finally said something positive and thousands of Liverpool fans everywhere celebrated that news alongside the European success. But we had to wait until then didn't we, so it was right for people to question him throughout the season.
It's not personal, I think Steven Gerrard's a great player and I'd prefer not to see him sold but I'm tired of players walking around in their designer clothes and sandals armed with mobile phones dictating what they'll do when they're ready. Well tough shit, I'm glad to see the club finally standing up for the benefit of every Liverpool fan by taking control of the saga.
Liverpool FC are the only winners here whether he stays or goes. |
