What a co0o0o0l thread

I agree with Alhatemi … that if we want to learn English we must learn it by practicing it with native people this is the best way as I see it

To me: I started learning English since I was 5 yrs old … I was in private school till grade 6 and after acquiring a good foundation my parents decided to register me in to a government school.. In the government I got high marks in English beside the other subjects… when I graduated from the high school… I joined DWC and I knew that the college will be a big challenge to me because I’ll be dealing with expatriates and all the subjects will be in English and I must forget my Arabic identity at all once I’m in college OF COURSE … first it was difficult to me … I felt shy ….I was a little bit nervous but then I get used to it …. Besides school MSN and English forums contribute in enhancing my English … I have friends from Australia, England, Ireland, and Italy but the English of the Italian people is not that much so they teaching me Italian instead of English.

My advice>> to the person who wants to learn English… spend your free time in improving your second language by watching English movies or serials… reading magazines, newspaper, and novels help in being fluent….

That’s all for now

See ya

PS: There will be a prize for the person who can guess or count how many times I wrote (I) …. (J/K )

Today,I'll talk about Safwa

Evryone in this montada doesn't now about Safwa

It's a small city on the beach of arabian gulf, it is in the eastern region Safwa in this time take on a momentousness because the king Fahd international airport is very close from it.
Its spase is 336 hectometer and the townsfolk are more than 45000 in year 1419AH.

The name
Its name was of old (Darosh). It is old Phoenician name and in a story
a Persian king's name. his name was (Daryosh) when he resided Safwa, and with the time its name transfer to be Safwa, not in this hurry it is long story an I need to speaking Arabic if I want explain it.
The sport in Safwa somewhat is good, the only club in safwa is Al-Safa sport club. the football team is in the regions' league, and the hand ball team is in the exelent league, and the remnant teams are very good.

It is my city and I pride it and love it .

thank you for reading mmy subject and i wish it is good.

The good thing about this thread is exploring new talents. I've never knew that Al-3arfaj is so fluent in English, you must have lived outside the Kingdom for a while bud? Also, Emiratyiah was very dangerous (ma sha allah).. I can't put money on competing with her, but definitely I don't mind to give it a go.

By the way, anyone has seen ( Al-Bareg2000 ) ?
My user has gone wa6y

Everyone in this thread should mind his grammar and spelling very carefully, cuz I'm gonna hunt every mistake you type.

I will start with Matahab, as she started this thread:

(with my self) Should be: (by myself)
(it will be not a realy lesson) Should be: (it will not be a real lesson)
(and it is not must every thing is correct) Should be: (and everything must not be correct).
(write it in Arabic but by English letters) Should be: (write THEM in Arabic by English letters).
(if you haven't any mind) Should be: (if you don't mind)
Except for those previous phrases, you were doing very well matahab .. I hope in sha Allah you get the best marks ..
_____________________________________
saudi2002: I like your writing, only one grammatical error ( I need to speaking Arabic if I want... ) Should be (I need to speak Arabic if I want...), and quite a few spelling errors neeed to be revised, like: (mach) should be (match), and (exelent) should be(excellent).
Again, I really liked your writing, and particularly the information about Safwa was great.

Abdul-aziz Al-Awwal
I have just some few notes. (and i support alhilal team since10years), instead of "since", it is only appropriate to use "for". Also, the tense of the sentence should be in past participle, so the sentence becomes (and I have been supporting alhilal for 10 years)
Also: (i don't forget first time I cried on it...) This sentence is correct, but in the matter of appropriateness, it should be (I can't forget the first time I cried on it...)
(after alhilal match with alweadad almagrebe) instead of "with", it is better to use the word "against", so the sentence becomes (after alihlal's match against alwedad almagrebe).
(and alhilal was losen this match) Should be: (and alhial lost this match).
And by the way, you didn't talk too much .. I think I am the talkative person right now. I hope to see again in this thread.
______________________________________________________
Al3arfaj.
Since you are the teacher's assistant, I don't really mind to dig deep inside your writing, and make correct sentences look wrong
One common mistake, that many non-native speakers commit: (from there participations in any subject) The word "there" should be "their", I guess ya know now that
Al3arfaj, I believe you can make a great English teacher. You talk slang like Americans. (whaazz up! that's very slang).
____________________________________________
Emiratyeah:
Oh you're really dangerous, but I still have some notes <-- they never finish
(a government school) .. this phrase is not wrong, but it's always preferred to use the adjective pattern (a governmental school) .. which gives more meaningfullness to the sentence..
(so they teaching me Italian instead) .. There is a missing ("were" OR "had been") in this sentence (so they were teaching me Italian instead)..
I believe that learning acronyms like "PS:" comes only from having friends who are native speakers. And believe it or not, my English has only improved by having native speaker friends throughout this cyberspace. Do you still agree on putting money for an English competition? Btw, one-sided bets are halal.
___________________________________________________

I think I have only been hunting mistakes, which many of the readers might not like, so I'm going to talk about some topic; so you can dream about trying to catch one single mono orphan typo or grammatical error ..
It's ok to keep dreaming, you can always get there.

I'm going to talk about my last thread at vb.alhilal.com forums, it was about a that extends Arabic words using what so called "kashidas". Kashida is the character you get once you press Shift+J in your keyboard, with the language switched to Arabic. You can find this thread in my signature. The main challenge in the is that not all Arabic letters are extendible. Also, might not have ONLY Arabic characters! It can also contain English letters and symbols...etc. That's why this requires high brain and computer computations.
Only one Arabic extendible letter might cause problems, which is the letter (lam). It is not always appropriate to extend this letter, for example: in the case of (lam alef لا ), or in the case of the word "Allah"...etc. I hope you enjoy this , and if you have any comments or suggestions, I would be very happy to hear from you. The is less than one month old, so it's still growing, but slowly though, due to my limited spare time. Anyway, I just feel great that I could free myself to participate in this interesting thread, it's Wednesday anyway!

You gotta know that no one is perfect and you too have mistakes just like ours (maybe worse ) and i'm inshalla gonna hunt you one time
