Al Hilal snub bid for Saudi star
Al Hilal have rejected a US$8 million bid from Dutch club Roda JC Kerkrade for the services of 2001 Asian Football Confederation Player of the Year Nawaf Al Temyat.

It was reported on Saudi daily Al-Riyadh that Al Hilal officials were not willing to release the influential player despite an offer that will be a record paid to any Asian club.

An unnamed Al Hilal official was quoted by Al-Riyadh as saying that Al Temyat is an influential player within the squad, and asserted that money will not be a consideration as European clubs begin to woo Al Hilal for their prized possession.

"They (Roda) have tabled an US$8 million offer to secure the services of Al-Temyat, who, it should be fairly stated, represents quite an inspirational and committed figure within the squad that could not be filled in the appropriate way, regardless of the fee presented by Roda JC," said the official.
